After a year of typing my daily-ish “Rocky Report” in various IM, email, and txt windows to various recipients, I’ve decided to start a blog to chronicle my horsemanship journey. Now I’ll just have to send URLs to y’all. Heh. This also makes it easier to share photos and videos.
I am starting this as I enter Parelli Level 2 on the ground, using both the blue-box Level 2 home study packet and the new Parelli Patterns. I’m also just starting the Level 1 riding portion.
Here is a picture of Rockstar, taken by Seth on our first day at the new barn:

I recently chose a long-term goal with an endpoint, a specific action I’d like to achieve, to go alongside the goal of lifelong improvement of my understanding of horses. My goal is to be able to canter bareback on Rockstar. (Well, on a bareback pad; let’s not get too crazy here.) It’s years away, and that’s just fine. I’ll take the time it takes and it will be all the sweeter.
Thanks for coming along for the ride.
